2.GORAKHNATH TEMPLE It is one of oldest place in Gorakhpur. Gorakhpur was a part of the kingdom of Kosala, one of the sixteen Mahajanapadas in the 6th century BC. The solar dynasty of Kshatriyas, whom are believed to have ruled the area, included the God-King Rama. Gorakhpur remained an integral part of the erstwhile empires of Maurya, Shunga, Kushana, Gupta and Harsha dynasties. This is a well known temple and worth a visit if you are in Gorakhpur ! Nice and open spaces and ample parking too! There are a few shops too where you may buy some peda and enjoy light snacks . You may need about 30 minutes to visit this place .

Post the ticket window, an Ashok- tree lined road leads to through the museum. Your kid’s face will light up seeing a mini toy train on the left. A ten rupee ticket to the toy train will provide for a memorable experience to your little ward as the train tours around the museum. The museum also houses a big crane, a steam engine and a road roller- not the ordinary ones, the ones used in olden times. That’s not all, the main attraction of this museum is the Lord Lawrence Steam Engine. It was built in 1874 in London.
